BTS member Jin shone with rising popularity as he bagged the second spot among the most influential male music influencers globally and took first place in Asia, according to the HypeAuditor ranking for the first half of 2023.

Jin secured 9th position in the overall list of "most influential music influencers in the United States," ranking him second among all male influencers globally and first among Asian males.

The list of globally influential male artists was topped by Justin Bieber, with Jin in second place, followed by Zayn Malik, Shawn Mendez, and Harry Styles from One Direction in third, fourth, and fifth positions respectively.

HypeAuditor utilizes AI algorithms to analyze Instagram accounts and segregate suspected fake followers, helping brands and agencies identify the most influential personalities.

Despite the top ranks being dominated by popular female artists like Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Billie Eilish, Jin stood out as the only BTS member ranked within the top 50 and maintained this high rank for an extended period. His consistent top-ranking in Asia among the "1000 most influential influencers in the United States" for 202 days has drawn attention.

Jin launched his personal Instagram account on December 6, 2021. Despite the late launch and his enlistment in the army in December of the same year, Jin has shown robust popularity in the United States, a country populated with global superstars.

On June 13th, BTS's 10th-anniversary debut, despite his busy military service, Jin posted a heartfelt letter full of fan love on the Weverse fan platform and shared a photo of the seven members waving at a concert on Instagram, touching fans worldwide.

Jin also ranked third in the "Top Music Instagram Influencers in Korea in 2023," announced by the influencer marketing platform Starngage. He showed exceptional popularity, coming in first among solo artists, with the first and second spots taken by group official accounts.

Furthermore, Jin topped the list of "K-pop idols with the most likes on Instagram in the first quarter of 2023," demonstrating his unique reach and status as the "social king."

The consumer market information platform NetBase Quid, which analyzes the impact of consumer-driven decisions for companies like Coca-Cola, Microsoft, and Walmart, confirmed Jin's immense popularity by naming him the "most mentioned artist worldwide in 2022."

Jin was the most mentioned individual artist at the Grammy Awards in April last year and was the most mentioned personality at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), demonstrating his unique influence and presence.

Jin's first solo single, "The Astronaut," released on October 28 last year, which he co-wrote with the world-renowned band Coldplay, became Korea Music Content Association (KMCA)'s first million-seller certified solo single. It was also the first Korean solo to receive a gold certificate from Japan's RIA in 2022.

"The Astronaut" debuted at 51st on the Billboard Hot 100, a record-breaking debut for a K-pop artist. It stayed on the "Global Excluding US" chart for five consecutive weeks, and debuted at first place on the "Emerging Artist" chart, maintaining its position for three consecutive weeks.

On the Japanese Billboard Japan Hot 100, "The Astronaut" achieved the highest ranking of any Korean solo song in the past ten years, hitting fourth place. It also made it to the "Top Single Sales" end-of-year chart, coming in 49th only one month after its release - the only Korean song to do so.

"The Astronaut's" music video held the record for 17 consecutive days at the top spot in the "Global YouTube Popular Music Videos" category, a first for K-pop and surpassing Jin's previous record of 16 days with "Super Tuna."

Finally, "The Astronaut" surpassed 15 million Shazams on June 4, the highest for any K-pop song to date, surpassing Jin's previous record with his first solo OST "Yours." Jin took the honor of having the top two most Shazamed K-pop songs.
