Taeyang from BIGBANG has shared the poignant inspiration behind the iconic breakup song "EYES, NOSE, LIPS," which is connected to his wife, Min Hyo Rin.

On the April 26 episode of tVN's variety show "Yoo Quiz on the Block," Taeyang discussed his love story with Min Hyo Rin. He recounted an episode during the filming of the "1AM" music video when the set was missing a female lead. G-Dragon, another BIGBANG member, suggested Min Hyo Rin for the role, and she accepted without hesitation.

The couple found they had great chemistry, and Taeyang was drawn to her each time they met. He said, "I had the thought of marriage if it was with her."

However, due to Taeyang's busy international schedule, he spent less time in Korea, which led to a temporary breakup between the couple. To express his feelings for Min Hyo Rin during this difficult period, he wrote the song "EYES, NOSE, LIPS."

Taeyang revealed, "During that sad time, I expressed those feelings of missing her and wrote 'Eyes, Nose, Lips.'" Min Hyo Rin appreciated the sincerity of the song, and the couple eventually rekindled their relationship.

"EYES, NOSE, LIPS" was released on June 2, 2014, and became a classic hit in K-pop due to its emotional lyrics and ballad instrumental. The song also achieved success on various domestic and international charts.

Fans praised the song for its genuine emotion and depth, with one fan commenting, "The vocals are the scream of the soul." Another added, "It's a song that never gets old, that even though it's 2023, this song never stops being good."

The song's connection to Taeyang's wife has also captured the hearts of fans, with one remarking, "The fact that he wrote this for his wife is on a different level of showing how you love the person."
