BTS' Jungkook is officially embarking on solo activities. He will release his solo single, 'Seven', at 1 pm (Korean time) on the 14th, through domestic and international music sites.

This is the first time Jungkook is officially stepping into a solo project. Having received positive responses from his previous freely-released tracks, 'Still With You' (2020), and 'My You' (2022), expectations are high for him to once again display the power of 'BTS' youngest member' through this new song.

◆ Jungkook's Summer Serenade 'Seven' Sets the Air on Fire

'Seven' is a passionate serenade that encapsulates the desire to be with your loved one for a whole week, set against an addictive melody, the warm sound of an acoustic guitar, and the rhythm of the UK Garage genre of electronic music created in early 1990s Britain.

Grammy-winning music producer and songwriter Andrew Watt and Circuit participated in the production and songwriting process of 'Seven', bringing Jungkook's unique musical color to life. The American rapper Latto featured in 'Seven', infusing it with vibrant and exciting energy.

In the music video, popular actor Han So-hee's appearance added an extra layer of synergy. The teaser video for the 'Seven' music video, which was released ahead of the main video, garnered over a million views within 10 minutes of posting, capturing the attention of fans worldwide.

Through his agency, Big Hit Music, Jungkook shared his feelings about starting his solo activities with 'Seven'. He described the song as one that anyone could easily and comfortably enjoy, saying he immediately knew he had to do it when he first heard it.

Jungkook further added, "I wondered how more people could enjoy 'Seven'. 'Seven' was the first genre I challenged, and the working process was fresh. I learned a lot during recording. It was fresh and good."

◆ The Sixth Solo Runner from BTS... Proven 'Solo Power'

With his new song, Jungkook will officially debut as the sixth solo member of BTS following J-Hope, Jin, RM, Suga, and Jimin. Given the significant global chart success of the other members' solo activities, Jungkook's new song is also expected to be well-received.

According to a report by U.S. entertainment industry data research company Luminate, released on the 12th (local time), Suga and Jimin's solo albums each ranked 5th and 7th respectively in the 'Top CD Album Sales' category, demonstrating the potent 'BTS Power'. Expectations for Jungkook's solo are high.

While 'Seven' is a single rather than an album, Jungkook's previous solo releases have performed well not only on domestic charts but also on global charts like the Billboard Hot 100. As 'Seven' is also an English song, it's anticipated to attract listeners worldwide.

Jungkook already proved his potential last year through two successful collaborations. The single 'Left and Right' with American singer-songwriter and producer Charlie Puth was loved for a long time on the charts, including a peak at 'Hot 100' 22nd place. In November, he gained renown through the official soundtrack 'Dreamers' for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

'Dreamers' entered the Spotify Global Top Songs chart at 2nd place immediately after its release, and within 13 hours, it topped the iTunes Top Songs chart in 102 countries. In addition to reaching 9th place on the 'Billboard 200' and 4th place on the 'Global' (excluding the U.S.) chart, it continues to receive love on domestic music sites.

Especially notable was Jungkook's performance of 'Dreamers' in front of 60,000 spectators and a global television audience at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar. Through this, Jungkook gained the title of the first Korean singer to perform at an overseas World Cup opening ceremony.

Building on this impressive filmography, Jungkook, who is launching his solo career, is scheduled to make his first performance of 'Seven' on the U.S. ABC '2023 Summer Concert Series' on the 14th (local time).
