BTS's Jin has once again made headlines, this time for his unprecedented achievement on Shazam, the world's largest music discovery platform. In Japan, his first solo single, 'The Astronaut', has maintained the number one spot for an impressive 202 consecutive days.

Released last year, 'The Astronaut' quickly soared to the second position on Shazam's 'Japan Chart' upon release, and subsequently secured its number one spot, where it has remained for over 200 days. This achievement not only marks the second-longest consecutive reign at the top of the chart in Shazam's history but also breaks the record for the longest streak by a foreign artist on Japan's Shazam chart.

Jin holds the all-time longest consecutive number one spot on Shazam with his first solo OST, 'Yours', which held the top spot for 204 days straight from April 9 to October 29 last year, a record seemingly untouchable.

With these achievements, Jin has solidified his reputation as a highly successful solo artist, holding the top two longest reigns on Shazam's charts.

'The Astronaut', released on October 28 last year, picked up the baton from 'Yours' and maintained the number one position. This signifies Jin's extraordinary feat of having a song at number one on the Shazam 'Japan Chart' for 406 consecutive days.

This outstanding record-breaking run once again demonstrates Jin's unparalleled popularity as a global solo artist.

Jin's 'Yours' was the first Korean solo song to rank first on Shazam's 'Japan TOP 200' chart and continues to show exceptional longevity, holding the number two position as of May 19, having been on the chart for a staggering 558 consecutive days.

As of the 19th, 'The Astronaut' has not only topped the charts in Japan but also in Korea and Singapore, bolstering Jin's title as the 'Global Shazam King'. The song has also claimed the number one spot in the 'Global TOP 200' chart for 16 consecutive days, a total of 111 times, which is a record for a K-pop artist.

Jin's brand power is further proven by the presence of all his eight solo songs including 'Yours', 'Epiphany', 'Moon', 'Tonight', 'Abyss', 'Awake', and 'Super Tuna' on the charts. His music continues to rank in various countries, including the Philippines, Thailand, Mexico, and Costa Rica, even six months after their release.

Jin's 'Yours' was the first K-pop song to achieve 12 million Shazams, and on the 6th of this month, 'The Astronaut' broke another record by becoming the first K-pop song to surpass 13 million Shazams. This makes Jin the first and only K-pop artist to have two songs exceed 12 million Shazams.

As of the 19th, 'The Astronaut' has surpassed 13.93 million Shazams, and 'Yours' has surpassed 12.95 million, continuously breaking records. Jin, with his success in 'Yours' and now 'The Astronaut', is consistently redefining success metrics and solidifying his position as a top solo artist.
