ASTRO's Moonbin Passes Away, Leaving Behind Colleagues and Family to Become a Star in the Sky
On April 22, Moonbin of the group ASTRO, who passed away on April 19, was laid to rest, leaving behind his grieving family and fellow members.
According to the music industry, Moonbin's funeral ceremony was held this morning at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Seoul, where a mortuary was set up. The funeral ceremony was held privately, attended only by immediate family members and ASTRO colleagues.
Their agency, Fantagio, announced the day before, "In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral ceremony and burial site will not be made public," and asked for "generous understanding so that ASTRO members and the bereaved family can beautifully send off the deceased on his last journey."
Moonbin, who debuted in the music industry as a part of the group ASTRO in 2016, was actively involved as the main dancer and sub-vocalist. He also formed the unit Moonbin & Sanha and released their third mini-album 'Incense' in January of this year. In 2009, at the age of 11, he appeared as a child actor in the KBS 2TV drama "Boys Over Flowers." Moonbin's younger sister is Moon Sua of the girl group Billie.
Fans of Moonbin, shocked by the sudden news, set up a memorial space of their own in front of the agency building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, leaving flowers and letters.
Moonbin was found dead at his residence in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 8:10 PM on April 19 (KST).
