The digital single "Heart Burn" has been released with the B-side track"Childhood", adding to the singer's discography since 2021's digital single "Go or Stop", a collab song with the "League of Legends" esports team DWG KIA from South Korea.

In a recent interview with Vogue, the singer said the concept of "Heart Burn" is based on "love fever". She shared that the music video idea began with the theme of "fever" and that the track also goes well with a hot day in summer. Another feature of the track is its strong Oriental feel.

There is a feeling of sorrow in the guitar riff, which is unique to Korea. According to the singer, the song was fun as it felt so different from all the songs she had done before.

The other song "Childhood" took inspiration from the movie "The Notebook". The singer added that there is a myth in Korea that a "first love" never comes true. Therefore, according to Sunmi, childhood love contains sadness that is both passionate and pure but cannot last forever.

Sunmi's most recent extended playlist, "1/6," was released in 2021 with the lead single "You Can't Sit With Us".

The singer had made her debut with Wonder Girls, the JYP Entertainment group, in 2007. In 2017 she signed with Abyss Company, which was formerly called Makeus Entertainment.
