After being criticized on social media with negative comments, the hit drama series True Beauty has released a statement of apology for a group photo that has gained controversy online.

A Supposed Congratulatory Post Gone Wrong

Cha Eun Woo shared a group photo on February 5 showing the drama's cast and crew on social media. The said post contains a message, "To the staff, cast, and crew of 'True Beauty,' you all worked hard."

However, just a short period after the upload, people began to criticize many people gathered close together in the photo. What made the netizens hated the image even more, is that most people are not wearing masks when masking, and social distancing guidelines are part of COVID-19 prevention in South Korea.

The Apology Statement

After the rounds of bashing on the internet, the production crew apologized on February 7, saying that they apologize for causing concern to many people regarding our group photo of the production team. They explained that the image was to commemorate the end of the drama series.

The production crew safely ended the shoot for True Beauty as they carried it out under strict preventive protocols. "However, many people were worried about the last commemorative photo. We will do our best to make a safe shooting set, without another moment of carelessness," they added.

Meanwhile, True Beauty officially aired its final episode on February 4, bringing its 16-episode run to an end.
