BTS Clinches 8th Consecutive Grand Prize at '2023 MAMA Awards'

BTS has won the Grand Prize at the '2023 MAMA Awards' for eight consecutive years.

On the evening of the 28th, the '2023 MAMA AWARDS' were held at Tokyo Dome in Japan. This year's ceremony was broadcast live worldwide, not only on Mnet and tvN SHOW but also through Mnet K-POP, Mnet TV, KCON, and M2 official channels, drawing global attention.

At the ceremony, ten teams including TOMORROW X TOGETHER, BTS, ZEROBASEONE, ENHYPEN, Im Young Woong, ATEEZ, NCT DREAM, Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN, and TWICE received the honor of winning the 'Worldwide Fans' Choice' award.

The 'Worldwide Fans' Choice' award, being determined entirely by fan votes, holds great significance for the awarded artists. Among the ten teams, BTS received the 'Worldwide Icon of the Year.'

Currently, BTS members are fulfilling their military duties and could not attend the ceremony. Jungkook conveyed his feelings through a video, expressing gratitude for the unwavering love and stating, "It's a pity we can't be together on a day like today. We will meet again as a bigger one. Until then, I hope everyone stays healthy and happy. Looking forward to seeing you all in good shape."

Besides BTS, TVXQ won the Inspiring Achievement Award, while RISE and ZEROBASEONE were named Favorite New Artist. YOSHIKI received the Favorite International Artist award, KEP1ER was named Favorite Asian Female Group, and TREASURE won the Galaxy Neo Flip Artist award.

The 'MAMA Awards,' hosted annually by CJ ENM, is a global music awards ceremony with a 24-year tradition. The event took place over two days, the 28th and 29th, at the Tokyo Dome. The ceremony was broadcast live globally, not only on Mnet and tvN SHOW but also via YouTube channels Mnet K-POP, Mnet TV, KCON official, and M2.
