BTS member Jimin has made waves across multiple platforms in South Korea, rising as the top solo artist in K-pop for the first half of 2023.

According to the 2023 mid-year report from South Korea's largest music platform, Melon, Jimin's solo album 'FACE' achieved over one million streams in just 6 hours and 50 minutes of its release, and over 2.9 million streams within 24 hours. This feat places 'FACE' in the historical top 9 positions, establishing a new record among solo artists.

Peak streaming within an hour reached 158,600 times (on March 24, 14:00), with the highest number of listeners in an hour totaling 32,300 (on March 24, 18:00). The album approached three million streams within 24 hours, reaching 2,961,300 streams.

Previously, Jimin's title track 'Like Crazy' from the 'FACE' album maintained its position at number one for four consecutive weeks (from the fifth week of March to the third week of April) in Melon's Weekly Popularity Award. This achievement marks the first such honor for a K-pop solo idol since the award's reformation in March 2022, further demonstrating Jimin's popularity.

In addition, with his pre-release track 'Set Me Free Pt.2' also claiming the top spot in the fourth week of March, Jimin set a remarkable record for a solo K-pop idol with five consecutive weeks at number one, the longest in history.

In the mid-year roundup by Circle Chart, 'FACE' was recorded as the 9th best-selling album among solo artists. 'Like Crazy' was the only song by a male solo artist to enter the top 10 in the global K-pop chart, while two songs ('Like Crazy' at 4th place and 'Set Me Free Pt.2' at 7th place) made it into the top 10 in the download chart.

On Spotify Korea, where Jimin continues his impressive run, he has been the first and only artist to chart all six songs from the 'FACE' album in the daily streaming TOP 10 for 31 consecutive days (from June 8th to July 8th).

Due to the immense popularity of his music, Jimin was the first and only solo artist to top Spotify Korea's Top Artist weekly chart for 12 weeks. As of July 8th, he has held the number one spot in the daily chart for 81 consecutive days, extending the longest-running record for a K-pop solo artist.

Furthermore, after the release of his solo album, Jimin topped the U.S. Billboard 'Hot 100', making history as the first Korean solo artist to do so in the 65 years of Billboard history. He also achieved incredible global success in the UK Official Singles Chart and Japan's Oricon Chart, thus showcasing his popularity domestically and being hailed as the most successful K-pop solo artist.
