Talks about an upcoming collaboration between Rosé of Blackpink and British singer Zayn Malik have been gaining momentum, especially after Nicola Carson, Malik's manager, recently started following the K-pop artist on Instagram.

The rumors originated on Wednesday when entertainment platforms Music Mundial and Pinkvilla reported that Zayn Malik is in New York working on his new album, coincidentally, at the same time when Rosé was seen in a recording studio. However, these claims couldn't be independently validated by International Business Times.

On Twitter, pop culture and music-centric accounts such as Pop Tingz and About Music added fuel to the speculation, tweeting that Rosé and Zayn are "rumored to release a new song together."

Nicola Carson's recent follow of Rosé on Instagram further intrigued fans and spurred the idea of a possible collaboration between the two artists.

While neither singer has made an official statement regarding the rumored collaboration, their fans are already buzzing with excitement, hoping that the news about the duo working on a song is true.

A fan expressed their anticipation, commenting, "Please, we just want this to be real. Another project for Rosé will be insane," while another fan exclaimed, "my favorite One Direction member and Blackpink member! We won!"

Another fan praised Zayn and Rosé's talents, predicting their potential collaboration would be a "hit." However, some fans expressed their uncertainty, writing, "don't wanna get my hopes up. [I] want this to happen, but I don't have the confidence that it'll happen."

The rumored collaboration has received mixed responses. In a South Korean online community, one user expressed their discontent, referencing Zayn's controversial history with the Hadid family. However, others defended the potential partnership, arguing that Zayn's and Rosé's combined vocal prowess could result in a spectacular track.

Interestingly, fans had previously speculated about a Rosé-Zayn duet. A TikTok video showcasing an artificial intelligence-generated mashup of the two artists' voices covering Coldplay's "Fix You" had piqued fans' interest.

Currently, Rosé, along with her fellow Blackpink members Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa, is engaged in their "Born Pink World Tour." Following the tour's Asian segment, the K-pop girl band is set to dazzle audiences in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, in the coming week.
