G-Dragon, the leader of the group Big Bang, has ended his exclusive contract with YG Entertainment.

On June 6th, YG officials told Star News, "Currently, G-Dragon's exclusive contract has expired, and we are cooperating on separate contracts for other activities such as advertising."

They further added, "We plan to discuss additional contracts when music activities are resumed, and YG will not spare any support for this."

The speculation about G-Dragon's contract expiration and possible departure began with the disclosure of YG's electronic disclosure system last month on the 15th. According to the quarterly report (2023.03) released by YG at the time, the list of singers and actors contracted with YG Entertainment as of March 31, 2023, is included under 'major contracts and research and development activities.' While G-Dragon was the only Big Bang member still with YG, his name did not appear in this report.

In light of the recent official departure of T.O.P from Big Bang, there has been speculation and discussion whether G-Dragon might also be leaving not only YG but Big Bang as well.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, G-Dragon promised active engagement saying, "I will visit you with various activities along with album preparation this year."
