YG Entertainment and HYBE are betting big on their new idol groups. Given the companies' mutual focus on the 'Next' big thing, they are determined to provide full support to produce top-notch outcomes.

YG is set to debut a new girl group, BabyMonster, this fall. As the first girl group to launch after Blackpink, seven years ago, the industry's attention, both domestically and internationally, is piqued.

True to YG's style of enjoying in-house competition, they first released content determining the members of Baby Monsters. As a pre-debut marketing strategy to gather a global fandom, they announced that two of the seven members would be eliminated, simultaneously fostering individual fandoms.

The success of BabyMonster could be pivotal for YG's future. At present, Blackpink is YG's only artist cash cow. While G-Dragon and Taeyang possess 'BigBang power,' their fame has waned. Given YG's position as the least successful in stock and artist terms among the 'Big 4' (SM, JYP, YG, HYBE), 2023 is an especially crucial year.

Hence, YG meticulously selected top-tier trainees for BabyMonster's content. They assembled a team that excels in vocals, rap, and performance, targeting a global audience with three members from Korea (Ah-hyun, Ha-ram, Rora), two from Thailand (Pharita, Chiquita), and two from Japan (Ruka, Asa).

On the day (12th) the final members were announced, YG's stock price reached a 52-week high. While not solely due to Baby Monsters, it seems to be an acknowledgement of Baby Monsters as a potential long-term growth engine succeeding Blackpink.

BabyMonster's official YouTube channel has over two million subscribers, and their accumulated views exceed 400 million. Even Billboard in the U.S. has selected them as a 'K-pop Artist to Watch.' Could Baby Monsters be YG's new cash cow, as they hope?

HYBE is also introducing a boy group under KOZ Entertainment, one of HYBE's labels. The six-member boy group named 'BoyNextDoor' is set to debut on the 30th.

They have selected all three songs, 'Going Crazy,' 'One and Only,' and 'Serenade,' included in their debut single 'WHO!' as title tracks. KOZ's CEO, producer, and singer Zico participated in the production, and as indicated by their team name, they intend to express everyday stories that their peers can empathize with, honestly through music. The members also contributed to the credits of 'Going Crazy' and 'Serenade.'

BoyNextDoor plans to produce three music videos. They will reveal one each on the 23rd, 26th, and 30th, demonstrating their confidence in their unprecedented investment and debut.

To fill the void left by BTS's military hiatus, HYBE is deploying a winning strategy with artists from HYBE Labels (BigHit Music, Pledis, Source Music, Belift Lab, Ador). BoyNextDoor is expected to continue smart activities, leveraging the advantage of being a 'rookie' and HYBE's benefits.
