C.A.P, former leader of the group TEEN TOP, has caused another wave of disappointment by suggesting that he deliberately caused controversy to facilitate his departure from the band.

On May 8, C.A.P stirred up controversy during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel 'Bad Boy.'

He showed signs of discomfort at the comments from some fans asking him to refrain from cursing and smoking in anticipation of TEEN TOP's July comeback.

"I honestly don't like it when people who don't usually watch my broadcasts suddenly start telling me 'you shouldn't do this' because we're coming back. I don't like it when people who didn't consume my content are trying to control me," he criticized, continuing to smoke and curse throughout the broadcast.

Notably, he expressed extreme disillusionment with his activities in TEEN TOP. "Honestly, I can't feel a sense of accomplishment when I'm doing TEEN TOP. Because it's stressful just doing it. It feels a lot like labor," he revealed his hidden feelings. He shocked fans by saying, "This may sound like it's coming out of nowhere, but I'm thinking about not coming back. The contract ends in July anyway."

C.A.P's remarks caused a huge ripple effect. The members and their agency, T.O.P Media, were gearing up for a comeback to commemorate their 13th debut anniversary in July, and the fans' expectations were also high, making C.A.P's inappropriate remarks enough to throw everyone into a panic.

The agency, realizing the situation, posted an apology the next day. "We deeply regret our lack of management of the artist regarding this issue. We will be more careful to prevent such incidents from happening again," they stated.

The agency, after quenching the immediate fire, discussed C.A.P's future course and decided on the 11th to terminate his contract with TEEN TOP. Thus, C.A.P disgracefully ended his journey with TEEN TOP and the agency, which had been ongoing since 2010.

Later, C.A.P conveyed his apology through his social media. "Despite being aware of the potential for controversy, I acted selfishly and thought only of myself," he bowed his head. He added, "I know I have let down those who believed in me and supported me over the years, and my members who have been closer to me than brothers. I felt for a long time that I was wearing a suit that didn't fit me. I wanted to take off that suit and thus behaved inappropriately. Without excuse, it was my fault and my mistake."

He continued, "I'm sorry to my younger members who even understood my immature behavior, and to the company, and also to the fans who must have been startled. I hope that there is no further damage to the TEEN TOP members and the company staff who were working hard for the comeback. Once again, I sincerely apologize."

However, during a live broadcast that evening, C.A.P, while expressing his regret to the members and fans, stated that he had caused trouble on purpose to facilitate his departure, which once again made the fans frown.

"I was originally thinking of leaving. I thought the contract would keep getting extended. I felt cornered and made an extreme choice. I actually tried to leave the company several times. There was a lot of talk during the re-contract season. I thought it would be better to cause trouble first and then leave. I thought those who understood would understand. Of course, I knew it would harm the team. But people will curse anyway, and if I leave, won't the object of their curse disappear? I thought that would be okay. I made that extreme choice thinking in that way," he revealed.

However, some fans, who were looking forward to the group's first full comeback in over three years, expressed they still can't understand his actions. Fans expressed their disappointment in the live chat, with comments like "Honestly, I still find it hard to understand," "I wish it had ended beautifully, but the method was extreme," "He chose to cause trouble first, then deal with the consequences," and "He thought too much alone and acted alone."

On a different note, TEEN TOP recently appeared on the MBC entertainment program 'Hangout with Yoo,' which has drawn attention and led to a resurgence of their hit songs. They also brought joy to fans by announcing a comeback in July. However, with C.A.P leaving, they plan to proceed as a four-member group (Chunji, Niel, Ricky, Changjo). They plan to sequentially reveal various promotions and stir up the comeback fever soon.
