Baskin Robbins Korea 'BTS 7 Cake' Criticized For Expensive Price And Common Design

Baskin Robbins Korea has recently introduced the latest cake collaborative work called the "BTS 7 Cake," but immediately chastised by netizens for overpricing and its typical design.

The cake has seven various types of ice cream flavors. They have introduced a campaign "BTS 7 Signal Light," in which a small number of people would get the same product promotion as the ones who pre-order a BTS 7 cake.

The additional good is a light that looks exactly like the number 7, representing the number of members that BTS has. The BTS 7 Signal Light can be acquired by all buying the cake for 3,900 won.

As ARMYs from around the globe are enthusiastic about this latest collaborative work, Baskin Robbins has been criticized for the newest cake cost. The cost of the BTS 7 Cake is 26,000 won (approx. US$ 22). It's the same price as several of Baskin Robbin's other ice cream cakes.

Yet the BTS 7 Cake is much smaller than some other cakes, which are in the same price bracket. Many supporters are also frustrated that the only significant difference between the cake of BTS from the other sweets is that it has the number 7. (via Koreaboo)

Others anticipated a more specific qualitative difference as this is a significant partnership with the greatest artists of all time, including such new flavors or designs. Baskin Robbins Korea reacted to the backlash by stating that the cake is more costly than other cakes on their menu because the ice cream blocks are manually placed next to each other.

"The BTS 7 Cake is our newest product with seven different, manually crafted ice cream blocks. The cost of production is greater than most of our ordinary products because this pastry is a limited product, and only 30,000 are available for sale." - Baskin Robbins Korea

Baskin Robbins Korea's "BTS 7 Cake" is accepting pre-orders starting July 21 to 23, and will allow its buyers to pick up the goods from July 24 to 25. The regular sales will be made available on a later date.
