After Big Hit's Super Boy Group BTS earned the official million certification from Gaon last month, the famous chart paved the way for SM Entertainment to savor the mesmerizing status this February. NCT also achieved the official million certification in the latest batch of official certifications from the Gaon chart!

Earlier in January this year, Gaon Chart announced that after selling over 2 million copies, BTS's latest album BE (Deluxe Edition), had received an official double million certification.

Gaon's New Achiever

NCT's latest album, RESONANCE Pt. 2, received an official million certification on February 11, as announced by Gaon Chart after selling over a million copies. This new feat marks NCT's second million certification from Gaon after the million certification they received in December for RESONANCE Pt. 1.

Furthermore, the posthumous solo album of SHINee's Jonghyun's Poet | Artist, GOT7's Breath of Love: Last Piece, EXO's Kai's KAI, ENHYPEN's BORDER: DAY ONE, and IZ* ONE's One-reeler / Act IV were all officially certified platinum after selling over 250,000 copies each.

For Kim Ho Joong's albums The Classic Album I - My Favorite Arias and The Classic Album II - My Favorite Songs, he received two separate platinum certifications.

Moreover, TWICE's YES or YES received a platinum certification in the download category after surpassing 2.5 million downloads.

And lastly, after reaching 100 million streams each, both BTS's Dynamite and Naomi Scott's Speechless became certified platinum in the streaming category.

The Start Of The New Gaon Certification

The Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system in 2018 for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming.

Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018. Meanwhile, albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a million certification.

Congratulations to all the recipients of the staggering record!
