BLACKPINK And BTS: Kings And Queens In The Gaon Chart Physical Albums Ranking

While BTS dominates the male idol group list for the highest album sales with BE (Deluxe Edition), BLACKPINK became the first K-pop girl group to win Gaon Chart's "Million" mark. The four-piece achieved cumulative sales for their first full album, THE ALBUM, which has exceeded 1.25 million.

BLACKPINK's first album released on October 6, THE ALBUM, has been announced by Gaon Chart to have joined its "MILLION Album" category.

BLACKPINK's 'THE ALBUM'

BLACKPINK proved its influence as its album, THE ALBUM, surpassed 1 million pre-orders even before their official comeback. The said album is the girl group's first full album released four years after its debut.

Moreover, when they sold 1.2 million copies in just 20 days, they made a new history in K-pop girl group history.

Meanwhile, in September, BLACKPINK achieved platinum with its special edition of How You Like That. As of this time, the group now has a total of 8 platinum badges. Square Up and Kill This Love in the album category; Forever Young and DDU-DU DDU-DU in the download category; and Forever Young, Solo, and DDU-DU DDU-DU in the streaming category.
