The South Korean television channel KBS is slated to host an online gathering of ASEAN countries' prominent artists for its 2020 Round Festival that will take place this coming December 6.

Details about the upcoming 2020 Round Festival

The virtual event hails sponsor from the ten ASEAN countries and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The countries include Cambodia, Brunei, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, and the ASEAN Secretariat.

2020 Round Festival aims to join the forces of South Korea and the countries that consist ASEAN. The renowned organization created programs like that of the Round Festival to solely strengthen the participating nations through cultural impartment, music, and firm like-mindedness.

Specifically, Round Festival glazes to bold and highlight the connection between South Korea and the ASEAN countries.

The Round Festival's organizing committee said in a statement that the project goals to strengthen the music connection between the countries, who have focused mostly on its economic growth.

"It aims to provide a venue for communication and cultural exchanges among young generations and deals with the side effects of the unilateral Hallyu, (Korean Wave) centered on K-pop idols," the committee added.

The roster of star-studded performers

On October 14 (Wednesday), the Round Festival's organizing committee revealed the performers that will grace its virtual stage. It exposes artists, namely Soran, Daybreak, jTBC's Super Band grand champion Hoppipolla, and Song So Hee.

Moreover, the music festival's original schedule was deferred to December 6 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

To enthrall the viewers, KBS Producer Hwang Kook Chan said that the virtual event was in full gear since 2019 and that the event's occurrence will surely be superb. Hwang Kook Chan also revealed that the music festival's original date was supposed to be in June, but the organizers decided to put it in December.
