"Forest of Secrets" season two soars high in ratings for its premiere!

tvN aired the first episode of "Forest of Secrets 2" on August 15, marking Cho Seung Woo and Bae Doona's return for the second season of the popular thriller drama.

As reported by Soompi, the new season of "Forest of Secrets" beats the first season right out the gate, scoring an average nationwide rating of 7.6 percent and a peak of 8.9 percent based on the data collected by Nielsen Korea. The ratings recorded surpassed the highest ratings achieved by the first season during the entirety of its run.

Furthermore, the premiere of "Forest of Secrets 2" marked data that made it achieve the second-highest ratings of any Saturday-Sunday drama in tvN history. While remaining in the top spot is the 2018 hit "Mr. Sunshine," which premiered an average nationwide rating of 8.9 percent.

The thriller-drama also took first place in its time slot across all channels, including public broadcast networks. Ages 20 to 49 are among the key demographic of viewers with whom it scored an average nationwide rating of 4.6 percent and a peak of 5.5 percent.

Meanwhile, remaining as the popular tv series among viewers is the weekend drama "Once Again," scoring the average nationwide ratings of 26.9 percent and for its two parts- 31.4 percent.

Rising to an average nationwide rating of 4.5 percent is JTBC's "Graceful Friends," while OCN's "Train" scored an average night rating of 1.2 percent.

Forest of Secrets Overview

Also known as Stranger, Forest of Secrets follows the story of Hwang Si Mok (Cho Seung Woo), an emotionless prosecutor, and the warm-hearted police officer Han Yeo Jin (Bae Doona). To solve hidden mysteries and investigate corruption, the two joined forces.

The second season follows the leads' reunion with opposing views of a tense situation engaging the police and the prosecutor's office.
