Jungkook of BTS has made an impressive feat by being nominated in four categories at the 2024 People's Choice Awards. As announced on the 11th (local time), Jungkook is in the running for 'The Male Artist of the Year,' 'The Pop Artist of the Year,' 'The New Artist of the Year,' and 'The Collaboration Song of the Year.'

This marks a historic moment as Jungkook sets a record for the most People's Choice Award nominations for a K-pop solo artist. Previously, BTS as a group had been nominated in four categories in 2018 and 2020.

The People's Choice Awards, a staple of American popular culture since 1975, is celebrating its 49th edition this year. Covering various fields like movies, TV, and music, winners are determined by public vote, with this year's recipients to be announced on February 18th via NBC, E!, and the streaming service Peacock.

In a year dominated by female artists like Taylor Swift, Doja Cat, and Miley Cyrus, Jungkook stands out as the sole male artist nominated in the 'Pop Artist of the Year' category, showcasing his unique position as a leading male solo artist.

For 'The Collaboration Song of the Year,' Jungkook has been nominated for his July release 'Seven (feat. Latto).' This track made a direct hit to number one on the Billboard Hot 100, reached the top 3 on the UK Official Singles Chart, and set a record for the fastest 1 billion streams on Spotify within 108 days globally.

Jungkook previously won 'The Collaboration Song of the Year' at the 2022 People's Choice Awards for 'Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)' with Charlie Puth, making his potential consecutive win a point of high interest.

He is also a contender for 'The New Artist of the Year' and 'The Male Artist of the Year.' In the latter category, he faces stiff competition from artists like Morgan Wallen, who claimed the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 sixteen times last year, and high-ranking Spotify global chart artists Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Drake, underscoring Jungkook's impressive stature in the industry.

Jungkook's solo career took off with the release of 'Seven' last year. He won 'Song of Summer' at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards in September. His success continued at the November 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards, where he won 'Best Song' and 'Best K-Pop,' becoming the first Korean solo artist to win two categories. Additionally, he bagged the 'Top Global K-Pop Song' at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.
