Fans of The Weeknd and Blackpink's Jennie are in for a treat as new music from HBO's American drama series "The Idol" is set to hit streaming platforms this Friday. The announcement comes ahead of the show's fourth episode, slated to air on Sunday.

Known offstage as Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd has announced the release of three new songs from the show: his solo "Jealous Guy," Lily-Rose Depp's "Fill the Void," and a collaborative piece featuring Jennie titled "One of the Girls."

The Weeknd confirmed Jennie's upcoming song in response to a detractor's tweet, stating, "[N]ot you again. LOL. [Y]ou thought I wouldn't recognize you [be]cause you changed your DP? [I'm] dropping that Jennie song this weekend for you! Get the bucket ready."

The announcement reignited the memory of an event back in May when Jennie's DJ friends Simi Khadra and Haze Khadra played a special track featuring the vocals of both Jennie and The Weeknd. The event was a pop-up store presentation of the Clavin Klein collection in Seoul, which Jennie attended.

Blackpink followers, known as Blinks, have also resurfaced a video clip featuring Jennie performing a song by The Weeknd from her pre-debut era. A Twitter post highlighted her journey, stating, "JENNIE went from performing The Weeknd's songs as a trainee to acting with him for a series he produced and now releasing a collaboration song with him - she really has come so far #JENNIExABELComingSoon."

In the run-up to the release of "One of the Girls," the hashtag #TheWeekndxLilyxJENNIE is trending among Blinks. An influential Jennie fan account tweeted, "Let's take a look at our goals for this anticipated collaboration. [This is a] reminder that this should not be our ceiling and as much as we can, we power through the numbers! Jennie fans, BLINKs or if you're a casual listener who supports #JENNIE, let's make this a success!"

While fans eagerly wait for the new releases, they can enjoy the already available tracks from "The Idol" on Spotify, which boasts a playlist of 29 songs as of now.

The HBO drama, "The Idol," weaves a narrative around an emerging pop star (Depp) embroiled in a complicated relationship with a modern-day cult leader and self-help influencer (The Weeknd) while she fights to retain her title as America's sexiest pop star.

"The Idol" broadcasts every Sunday on HBO and is available for streaming on HBO Max at 9 p.m. ET.
