The Brand Reputation Index is a metric that examines the influence of consumers' online habits on brand consumption, using big data analysis. It allows us to measure the positive and negative evaluations of idol group brands, media interest, and the volume of consumer interest and communication. Qualitative evaluations from the Brand Reputation Monitor were also included.

The Idol Group Brand Reputation rankings amalgamate brand category analyses for both boy groups and girl groups. They measure consumers' participation, media, communication, and community indices for the idol group brands to analyze the Brand Reputation Index.

Gu Chang-Hwan, director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Institute, said, "In the June 2023 Idol Group Brand Reputation rankings, the BTS brand took first place. If we compare it with the 81,963,585 pieces of idol group brand big data from last May, there was a 2.40% increase. The detailed analysis showed a 5.82% decrease in brand consumption, a 3.80% increase in brand issues, a 0.07% decrease in brand communication, and a 5.94% increase in brand proliferation."

He continued, "BTS's brand reputation rose sharply due to the powerful synergy between individual activities and group comebacks. Their broad reach across all brand indices - participation, media, communication, and community - demonstrates the global impact of their brand."

"BLACKPINK maintained their position in the rankings despite a slight decrease, demonstrating the strong loyalty of their fanbase and the continuous interest in their individual activities."

"NewJeans, ranking third, has shown steady performance in the idol brand reputation rankings. Despite the decrease in their index, their distinct music style and continuous engagement with fans have kept them in the top ranks."

"SEVENTEEN and IVE, ranking fourth and fifth respectively, showed a decrease in their brand reputation indices, hinting at a need for fresh strategies to re-engage their audiences."

The director concluded, "It is essential for idol groups to maintain a consistent connection with their fans and create positive interactions both online and offline. This contributes to the overall brand reputation. With a myriad of platforms available, the opportunities for innovative fan engagement are numerous. Idol groups need to utilize these platforms effectively to maintain their brand reputation."
