BTS's Jungkook's cover of 'NIGHT DANCER' prompted infinite gratitude and emotional reaction from rising J-pop and TikTok star, Imase. Jungkook held a personal live broadcast titled 'Knock knock...' through the fan community Weverse on May 25th.

During the broadcast, Jungkook said, "I've been watching TikTok these days, you know that 'NIGHT DANCER'? I've been listening to it non-stop," revealing his deep affection for the song.

Jungkook performed a live cover of Imase's 'NIGHT DANCER' showcasing his flawless vocal skills against a calm accompaniment. Jungkook expressed his fondness for the song, saying, "Isn't the song so good? It must be why it got so popular."

In response, Imase expressed his joy and gratitude on his Twitter account by writing, "omg...BTS!?!? Jungkook!?!? He sang 'NIGHT DANCER'...!?!? Thank you!" alongside a photo of himself, unable to hide his surprise and emotion about Jungkook's cover of 'NIGHT DANCER'.

Imase also repeatedly thanked and responded to Jungkook's cover on his Instagram reels and TikTok account, sharing clips of Jungkook singing 'NIGHT DANCER' during his personal broadcast and making a thumbs-up gesture saying, "Thank you~Arigato!"

Imase continued to talk about Jungkook throughout his Instagram live, repeatedly saying "Oh my god," and "Jungkook-san Arigato Gozaimasu." The 'Jungkook effect' was immediately noticeable in both Japan and South Korea after he sang 'NIGHT DANCER'.

Japan's largest portal site 'Yahoo Japan' saw a surge in real-time trends with 'Jungkook' rising to 1st place, followed by 'imase' at 7th and 'NIGHT DANCER' at 8th, proving their overwhelming popularity and buzz locally.

Moreover, 'NIGHT DANCER' recorded 1st place in real-time ranking on Japan's lyric search site Uta-Net, and also climbed to 1st place in real-time search terms on South Korea's music platform 'Melon', attracting explosive attention. Imase gained recognition in South Korea through short-form platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram reels with 'NIGHT DANCER' released in August 2022. Particularly, it was used as dance challenge music on TikTok, recording over 1.2 billion views and rising as one of the hottest J-pop songs of the year.
