Actor Song Joong-ki and his wife, Katie Louise Saunders, are set to make their first public appearance together at the Cannes Film Festival, where they will be attending the official screening of the invited film 'War.'

On the 23rd (local time), Song Joong-ki conducted an interview with Korean media at a hotel in downtown Cannes, France.

During the interview, Song Joong-ki candidly shared stories about his wife and their expected child with the reporters. He mentioned, "I have not yet seen the film. I will be watching it for the first time at the official screening at the Cannes Film Festival tomorrow." He further added, "Although I was suggested to watch it in advance for the interview, I deliberately chose not to, as I wanted to watch it together with the audience at Cannes."

He also revealed that he had brought his wife along with him. Katie is currently in her final month of pregnancy.

Song Joong-ki remarked, "The culture around pregnancy is different abroad. They advise 'to walk, stroll, and exercise frequently.'" He added, "While the Cannes Film Festival is important, all my attention is focused on my baby and Katie's health. I need to take care of my wife in between movie promotions and after they are all finished."

Song Joong-ki said, "I try to think positively and gratefully. A great and good thing has happened in my life, and then I also got to come to Cannes." He smiled and added, "I am trying not to get too excited as these good things are all coming at once."

Back in January, Song Joong-ki announced his marriage and pregnancy news with Katie, who is originally a British actress. Following this, he has had the fortune of making his debut at Cannes with the film 'War,' marking a series of happy occasions.

Directed by Kim Chang-hoon, 'War' is a noir drama that depicts the story of a boy named Yeon-gyu, who, desperate to escape a hellish reality, meets the mid-level boss of an organization, Chi-gun, and ventures into a precarious world. The film was invited to the Noteworthy Perspective section of this year's Cannes Film Festival.

Song Joong-ki plays Chi-gun, and newcomer Hong Sa-bin plays Yeon-gyu. Kim Hyung-seo, active as singer Bibi, plays Yeon-gyu's younger sister, Ha-yan.

On another note, Song Joong-ki plans to begin shooting for the Netflix film 'Rogiwan' immediately after finishing his official schedule at Cannes.
