Jennie, a member of the globally popular girl group BLACKPINK, has been confirmed to attend the 76th Cannes International Film Festival.

According to OSEN's report on May 11, Jennie, who made her acting debut this year, will attend the official screening schedule of the Cannes Film Festival, held in Cannes, France, on May 22nd at 10:30 pm (local time).

Last month, there was high interest from both domestic and international fans on whether Jennie would walk the Cannes Film Festival's red carpet. In response, YG Entertainment said in an official statement last April, "Jennie has been invited to the Cannes International Film Festival, but her attendance is still undecided."

As Jennie is given the opportunity to walk the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, where film fans from all over the world gather for her acting debut, it is expected to draw significant attention once again.

Jennie's first acting challenge, the American HBO original drama 'The Idol,' tells the story of the entertainment industry in which a popular pop star is involved. Consisting of a total of six episodes, the series is scheduled to premiere in North America and South Korea this year. At the 76th Cannes Film Festival, about two episodes from the non-competitive section will be unveiled.

Sam Levinson, who directed HBO's 'Euphoria,' participated as a co-producer and director for 'The Idol.' In addition to Jennie, the series stars Lily-Rose Depp, Abel Tesfaye, Susanna Son, Steve Zissis, Troye Sivan, Jullibeth Gonzalez, Maya Eshet, and Tyson Ritter.
