Actress Kim Sae-ron, who received a fine for a drunk driving accident that caused social controversy, has announced her return to television with the Netflix series "Hunting Dogs," sparking mixed reactions from the public.

On April 18, news of Kim Sae-ron's appearance in the Netflix series 'Hunting Dogs' garnered attention. In relation to this, Netflix representatives confirmed Kim Sae-ron's participation to Xports News, stating, "It's difficult to discuss the details of her role before the show is released," but also clarified that a complete edit was not possible.

In May last year, Kim Sae-ron was at the center of controversy for her drunk driving accident and subsequently announced her departure from the SBS show 'Trolley' and Netflix's "Hunting Dogs." While her departure from 'Trolley' didn't affect the filming schedule, some shooting for "Hunting Dogs" had already taken place, and more was scheduled. The show's production decided to minimize Kim Sae-ron's scenes but ultimately kept her appearance.

Netizens showed understanding for the production's dilemma, as Kim Sae-ron's character plays a central role in the show. They speculated that considering the storyline and overall quality, a complete edit would have been impossible. Most importantly, they expressed regret for the situation where other actors and staff would suffer due to the controversy surrounding Kim Sae-ron.

However, some voices expressed dissatisfaction with Kim Sae-ron's swift comeback, especially after she was recently fined 20 million won and her sentence was virtually confirmed. During the trial, Kim Sae-ron claimed to be struggling financially due to paying compensation for the drunk driving accident and revealed she was working part-time to make ends meet. Some netizens reacted with comments like, "Kim Sae-ron doesn't need to work part-time anymore" and "Kim Sae-ron's financial struggles are resolved."

Meanwhile, "Hunting Dogs" tells the story of three young people who face off against loan sharks to find their mother's store, which was taken away by illegal loans, and become entangled in a massive power struggle. The show is scheduled to be released in June.
