Singer and actor Ong Seong-wu shared his feelings about his upcoming military enlistment.

On April 14, Ong Seong-wu hosted a live broadcast on his YouTube channel, appearing with a freshly-shaved buzzcut. "I went to the salon and got a clean buzzcut. I wanted to greet you all right after cutting my hair," he said, adding, "I thought it would be better to say goodbye in advance since I'll need time to talk with my family on the day of enlistment."

Regarding comments about cutting his hair too short, he said, "I didn't know it well. I've never had my hair this short before, so I was curious about how it would feel. It feels new and fascinating, and I think it makes me more determined and prepared."

He continued, "After receiving my enlistment date, I had a busy schedule. I was worried and cautious about how my fans would feel, as they too are getting older. I'll do my best to enjoy it and come back stronger and more dependable."

Ong Seong-wu reassured his fans, saying, "I'll do my best and return coolly and confidently. After being assigned to a unit, I'll be able to use my mobile phone, so I can share updates during my free time. Don't feel like we're too far apart, and I'll be back soon."

Ong Seong-wu will enlist on April 17. After completing basic military training at the new recruit training center, he will serve as an active-duty soldier in the army.

Ong Seong-wu gained immense popularity as a member of the project group Wanna One after appearing on Mnet's "Produce 101 Season 2" in 2017. He continued his career as a solo singer and actor and recently wrapped up filming for the JTBC drama "Strong Woman Gangnam Soon" before his enlistment.
