South Korean singer Lee Seung Gi has filed a legal complaint against the CEO of his agency, Hook Entertainment, and its ex and current directors.

The singer's legal representative revealed a lengthy statement related to their legal complaint that mentioned they had filed a complaint against the former and current directors as well as Hook Entertainment's CEO at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office on December 22.

The legal representative shared that the agency hid the fact that many times it did not pay the music profits that Lee Seung Gi had generated for nearly 18 years since his debut.

Therefore, the singer filed a legal complaint against Kwon Jin Young, Hook Entertainment's CEO as well as its financial directors on grounds of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes, like fraud and embezzlement.

Moreover, Lee Seung Gi also got to know via a recent report that the former and current directors of the agency cheated him and also did not hand out a part of his pay from the advertisement model profits.

According to the singer's legal representative, Lee Seung Gi believed that nearly 10 percent was paid to his advertisement agency under the title of "agency commission", but in reality, the agency's ex and current directors did not hand out a part of the agency's commission to the ad agency, and distributed it amongst themselves.

It was only when the South Korean singer took up the issue that Hook Entertainment acknowledged it and paid him around $500,000. His legal representative said that they sued the CEO and three directors for occupational embezzlement and fraud.

The legal representative also said that the singer never reached an agreement with Hook regarding the fees and payment for music. Despite this, last week, without prior notice Hook transferred about $3.8 million of unsettled payment for defrauded advertising and music payment and filed a non-existence of debt lawsuit confirmation against Lee Seung Gi.

The legal representative stated that Lee Seung Gi got to know of this through a new report, and he has still not received the complaint. Moreover, there is a prominent gap between the amount that has been transferred and the amount Lee Seung Gi knows to be the amount that is still unpaid.

The legal representative added they will file a counter-lawsuit while responding to the confirmation of the non-existence of debt simultaneously. They also plan to claim damages against the agency and related personnel for illegal acts and unpaid music fees.
