Lee Hi bestows her presence at "Look Me Up" in 1theK on YouTube, where she released the track Jonghyun composed for her entitled 'Breathe' and shared emotional thoughts about the late K-pop idol's passing.

Lee Hi read a commentary that shared how soothing the "Breathe" track is for them while browsing at some fan reviews. The idol also expressed gratitude to Jonghyun for the soundtrack and how it also consoled her. (via Koreaboo)

"The thing is that Jonghyun composed me this track, and that gratified me because I saw many people sharing their feedback on how it was consoling them. I think finding a track that will calm you is quite difficult. If it speaks to what you feel, I believe that's a song that distresses you. However, I think music nourishes many people, so I am so grateful for the song that Jonghyun made me."

Lee Hi narrated how she worked hard to record the track and how it made her feel secure and calm.

She said everything turned upside when Jonghyun passed away. She started questioning herself if she can still perform the song after what happened. Jonghyun not only gave Lee Hi the sentimental track, but supporters acknowledge that the two idols have been very close friends.

In December 2017, SHINee Jonghyun died and caused a significant shock both in Korea and around the globe.

Jonghyun's Death

On December 18, 2017, Jonghyun rented a place for two days in the Cheongdam-dong district of Gangnam.

The first alert to emergency response officers was later that day (at 4:42 PM). Jonghyun's elder sister, Kim So-dam, confirmed that she suspected he might attempt suicide since he had forwarded her a series of text with phrases such as "last farewell' and "say I have been doing well" on KakaoTalk. He was last seen at a shop near his rented place.

In a state of a cardiac attack, he had been brought quickly to the Konkuk University Hospital. He was handled with emergency CPR. That being said, at around 6:32, he was no longer breathing and failed to respond to any treatment.

Jonghyun was declared dead in the healthcare facility at the age of 27.

Police suspected that he died either by burning poisonous gas or smoke because they found coal briquettes burned in a frying pan upon arrival at the building. The authorities said that a post-mortem will not be conducted at the command of the late idol's family and ruled his death to be a suspected suicide.
