South Korean singer-actress Son Dam Bi has refuted rumors that she is soon getting married.

On January 17, H&E Entertainment, the talent agency of the singer-actress denied rumors of her upcoming marriage. They released a statement that said that the entertainment company checked with Son Dam Bi herself, who conveyed that though she is in a good relationship with Lee Kyou Hyuk, s former Olympic speed-skater, they have still not reached the stage where they are thinking of marriage yet.

Incidentally, the entertainment agency had confirmed in December 2021, that the two had been dating for three months. They had further stated that Son Dam Bi and Lee Kyou Hyuk had met via golf and had been friends for some time before embarking on a romantic relationship.

The marriage rumors had started circulating after a YouTuber, Lee Jin Ho, claimed that the pair had plans to get united in matrimony the next six months. The YouTuber had also made more unfounded claims about the starting of the couple's relationship.

According to Lee Jin Ho, the two were dating each other as far back as 2011, after first meeting through "Kim Yuna's Kiss & Cry", a South Korean reality show that revolved around figure skating/ice dancing competition.

The YouTuber had further added that the two had then broken up because Son Dam Bi was very young then and also she had many professional commitments as a popular singer. However, the duo still found a way to be in touch as friends over the years.

That was not all, Lee Jin Ho claimed that the singer and the skater began dating again after the former was embroiled in rumors, which involved a fraudster and Korean-Australian actress Jung Ryeo Won. During this hard period in the singer's life, she got support from Lee Kyu Hyuk.

A few YouTubers have recently been gaining notoriety for spreading rumors and falsehoods based on unfounded claims. In fact, last month in December 2021, megastar Kim Taehyung V, who is a band member of BTS, had spoken about his intention to sue a YouTuber for spreading malicious rumors about K-pop celebrities and trying to defame them.

V said that he would proceed with the lawsuits as he was annoyed because the YouTuber had involved his family and friends in the YouTube post. The BTS star also added that all artists hate malicious people like that, and would sue on behalf of all those who felt hurt.
