Lee Hyunjoo, a former member of the girl group called APRIL, has been involved in a major conflict with her old agency and former co-members. She revealed stories that suggested she was bullied when she was still part of DSP Media.

The issue has been escalating, and it had come to a point when it was already brought to the court. As this happens, Lee Hyunjoo's family members also got involved as they publicly talked about the alleged bullying and accused the APRIL members of being harsh on Hyunjoo when they were still promoting together. As a result, he was sued for defamation.

He is still a student, so his family helped him face the charges. Fortunately, it was reported that the authorities did not find him guilty of defamation, so his case was not forwarded to the prosecution anymore. Unfortunately, this means that there will be no trial as the investigators did not find evidence to indict him.

As per Koreaboo, the police said that it is difficult to say that Lee Hyunjoo's younger sibling wrote his posts online with malicious intent.

The authorities explained that after reading the articles that say his sister's withdrawal from APRIL has damaged the group, and incidents of alleged bullying were also mentioned in the reports, Hyunjoo's brother just stepped up to reveal the truth by correcting the stories. Thus, this cannot be considered defamation, according to the judge handling the case.

"Back on June 14, the police ruled that Hyunjoo's younger sibling, who wrote a post titled 'I am a younger sibling of a former April member' on February 28 and another post titled 'I am Lee Hyunjoo's younger sibling' on March 3, is not guilty of defamation of character," Allkpop quoted the Lee & Kim law firm as saying in another report.

In any case, it was said that it is not known who exactly filed the case against Hyunjoo's brother. However, his lawyers said that six people had accused him of defaming the APRIL members, so they are filing additional claims to find out who these individuals are.
