SHINee’s Onew Shares His Source Of Strength While In The Military + Spends Time With His Mom
SHINee's Onew fulfills his promise to SHINee World to meet them and have fun!
On July 21, per Soompi, Onew surprised his fans by holding a V Live broadcast. The live streaming was done after a day since the SHINee leader was officially discharged from the military.
With the COVID-19 protocols, Onew was discharged on July 8 without returning to the military base and was officially detached from his military status on July 20.
During the singer's V Live, Onew admitted that it's awkward to do the telecast for the first time in such a long time. The idol greeted his fans as he started the broadcast and shared that while he was on leave, he rested at their home, read books, and listen to music.
Onew also revealed during the V Live that while he was in the military, he received many letters from his fans, which helped him carry out his responsibilities as an enlisted citizen, especially when he did musicals.
The leader of SHINee performed musicals while in the military, including "Shinheung Military Academy" and "Return: The promise of the day." He shared that he worked hard at rehearsing his roles in the musical with the other soldiers.
Onew also talked about his reading activities while he was in the military base because he received many books as gifts during the enlistment. He also stated that a lot of his free time goes to reading the letters he received from fans, and he noted that they piled like a mountain.
A fan asked Onew about the new things he discovered about himself while in the military. He said that he gained a lot of weight and learned to think a lot because there is plenty of time in the military to think of many thoughts.
The singer also shared about spending time with his family after his discharge. They took family pictures for the first time in his life and spent a lot of time with his mother. "I'm now trying to spend time with my mom like a friend."
With the question of what gave him strength while in the military, Onew said he kept viewing the pictures of their concerts provided by a fan whenever he misses Shawols.
Onew also revealed on the broadcast that he received voice lessons when he was on leave from the military so that when he returns to his fans, he can keep singing for a long time.
