BTS remains one of the most influential all-male bands in the world. As the group continues to reach new, record-breaking heights, the same dynamic applies to the members in their respective careers as solo artists.

AllKpop reported that member Suga has taken the spotlight today after breaking a YouTube record with his single, "Daechwita." As added, he even made history because of a "major milestone."

On Thursday, the group's rapper has joined Psy as the only male Korean soloists to obtain over 10 million likes on the platform.

While he comes in second, considering the "Gangnam Style" singer came in first, he achieved the feat in 326 days. This, then, makes him the fastest act to reach the said milestone.

The publication continued that, in factoring the female individual acts, Suga is the third Korean solo artist to obtain 10 million likes, next to Jennie Kim. Consequently, he is the fifth artist overall, as BTS and BLACKPINK have previously reached the same milestone.

Following the reports, many netizens celebrated on various social media platforms. They marked the artist's achievement by trending the hashtags, "Daechwita 10M Likes" and "RECORD BREAKER Agust D."

The music video premiered in May 2020 as part of Suga's mixtape D-2. It has since obtained over 219 million views and more than 1.2 million comments.

Forbes released a similar report, emphasizing how "major" the milestone is. As pointed out, very few South Korean artists have obtained the same number of likes on YouTube. Accordingly, it remains an "extremely rare to approach for most singers" today.

In analyzing the ratio between the views and the likes of the "Daechwita" MV, the publication said that it is a "very high" one. This, reportedly, means that the people who watch the video, and "likely rewatch it" a few times more, are "very interested not just in the track and the treatment, but the musician himself."

When the BTS rapper dropped his mixtape over a year ago, he utilized the name, "Agust D." Many have since wondered why he used a different one than his more popular stage name, and what it means.

Cheat Sheet said that Suga releases his solo works under the said name. When asked about it, the artist himself revealed that it is a "different alter ego than Suga." It "represents a raw side" of himself that "Suga" has yet to showcase in the music scene.

The BTS member, also, previously explained that he writes his name as "DT Suga," with DT, short for "Daegu Town," his hometown. He said that "Agust D" is just "DT Suga" written backward. (Business Times)
