GOT7's Yugyeom is reportedly departing his current label, JYP Entertainment, to sign a new contract with AOMG. 

On January 6, Wednesday, Soompi reported that GOT7's Yugyeom would be departing JYP Entertainment as his contract comes to an end this month. Moreover, GOT7's Yugyeom is confirmed to be entering the hip hop label AOMG after his final settlement with JYP Entertainment.

GOT7's Yugyeom had received love calls and made contact with several management labels, but after careful consideration, the young idol decided to join AOMG after his contract expires with JYP Entertainment.

GOT7 Yugyeom's current label released an official statement on the matter, explaining they will update the fans and public once they concluded their discussion and when they are ready. 

"We are still discussing various possibilities regarding GOT7's contracts, and we will inform you when we are ready," JYP Entertainment said in a statement to a Korean media outlet. Meanwhile, GOT7 Yugyeom's co-member Jinyoung was reported to have held a meeting with BH Entertainment in December for a potential contract offer. 

Furthermore, JYP Entertainment revealed that GOT7's contract would end this month, now the members are not yet releasing any possible plans for their career as their contract nears expiration. Despite other members receiving love calls from various agencies, JYP Entertainment confirmed they discuss 'diverse possibilities' for the GOT7 members. 

Fans are wondering if the members will stay under JYP's management, will they disband? Pursue individual activities? No precise statements have been released by JYP Entertainment yet but netizens believe the members will transfer to other agencies. 

GOT7 consists of seven members who debuted in 2014 and was managed by JYP. GOT7's success in making music as a band, which resulted in the growing number of fans local and abroad, made them obtain the'Worldwide Fans' Choice Top 10' at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and the 'Performance of the Year Daesang' at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards.
