Lee Hyori Went Live On Instagram While Volunteering, Explains Why 'Hyori's Homestay' Is Unlikely To Return With A New Season
Lee Hyori promotes animal treatment awareness through social media and answers questions from fans!
On June 28, Lee Hyori went on a live broadcast on Instagram while volunteering at an animal shelter. She shared on her video, "I'm at an animal shelter right now with my friends from Jeju Island. An elderly woman runs the shelter, and a lot of help is still needed here. When I return to Jeju Island after working busily in Seoul, I'm busy with taking care of animals."
She also added, "I wish that the public's awareness and treatment of animals would improve. This is how I take care of myself. Whenever I find myself falling into a flashy lifestyle and forgetting what's going on in the world, I come here to spend time realizing what's important in my life and how thankful I should be."
"It feels like I'm learning, rather than participating in voluntary service, cleaning up their droppings. Many things in the world are much dirtier than animal droppings. Now, I'm so used to it that I have no trouble cleaning them up. If you try it out with this kind of mindset, you'll learn a lot."
During the broadcast, one fan commented that they wanted to see a third season of 'Hyori's Homestay.' Lee Hyori answered the fan honestly, "It'll be difficult. I had a hard time after my house was revealed."
She explained that her home should be a comfortable and happy place for her husband, Lee Sang Soon, her pets, and herself as per Soompi.
In 2018, Lee Hyori and husband Lee Sang Soon sold their house where the show 'Hyori's Homestay' was filmed after several incidents happened where fans trespass the couple's home to take videos and photos.
Many tourists also caused constant disturbance to the couple and their pets by ringing the doorbell to talk to them.
JTBC, the channel that aired 'Hyori's Homestay', was reported to have bought the house.
They said in a statement, "If a third party were to purchase the site in the future, it would be difficult for them to use it as a residence. If it were to be used for commercial purposes, we are worried it might negatively affect the content image of Hyori's Homestay."
"As such, JTBC has decided to buy the property from Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon to manage the brand image and protect the cast," CLEO reported.
Meanwhile, Lee Hyori is currently in Seoul, preparing for her upcoming co-ed trio debut as 'SSAK3' with Yoo Jae Suk and Rain.
SSAK3 will make its official debut on July 18. Stay tuned!
