The film revolves around the protagonist Joo Soo In, played by Lee Joo Young, who dreams of being part of a professional baseball team. In the movie, she will be facing hardships as she takes on the reality of being a girl in the world of baseball.

The plot starts when Joo Soo In has been put under the spotlight and called the “genius baseball girl” for her ability to pitch at a maximum speed of 134 kilometers per hour while adding a lot of rotation to the ball.

After graduating high school, she struggles to join a professional baseball team due to her gender. However, things changed when the new coach Jin Tae, played by Lee Joon Hyuk, joins Joo Soo In’s baseball team.

The trailer highlighted Joo Soo In’s response to the people who doubted her saying, “How can people know my future? Even I don’t know it. I can’t give up without trying.”

The drama sports film was written and directed by Choi Yoon-tae, starring Lee Joo-young, Lee Joon-hyuk, Yeom Hye-ran, Song Young-kyu and Kwak Dong-yeon. The film is set to be released in theaters on June 18, 2020.

In addition, Lee Joo Young won the Independent Actor Award at the 45th Seoul Independent Film Festival on November 2019 for her role in ‘Baseball Girl’.

During the press screening for the film in Yongsan District in Seoul, Lee Joo Young spoke about how she trained with real baseball players to prepare for her role as Joo Soo In. She revealed, “While preparing for the film, I trained with real baseball players for about one month. It wasn’t a very long time, so it didn’t prepare me enough to look like a real pro baseball player.”
