(G)I-DLE bags fourth award for their comeback single “DUMDi DUMDi” at the show “Show Champion.”

On the August 19 episode of “Show Champion,” (G)I-DLE took the first spot of the award for their single “DUMDi DUMDi.” While the episode was a special broadcast without new performances, the girl group sent a video message and thanked everyone for their support.

The contenders for the award were TREASURE’s “Boy,” Park Jin Young’s “When We Disco,” featuring Sunmi, Lee Hi’s “HOLO,” and Jessi’s “NUNU NANA,” which (G)I-DLE won first place.

On August 12, (G)I-DLE had their first win of the “Show Champion” award for their comeback single “DUMDi DUMDi.” The girl group was up against all-star artists such as Kang Daniel, ATEEZ, Lee Hi, and Jessi, but (G)I-DLE’ managed to win for themselves.

After (G)I-DLE took home the award, the girl group took the stage for an encore performance of “DUMDi DUMDi.” The fans loved their live performance and have shown support over social media, commenting that the group looked comfortable dancing to their comeback single and had a clean live performance.

Meanwhile, the success of (G)I-DLE’s single “DUMDi DUMDi” has reached overseas, which top the iTunes Top Song Charts in 41 countries. These include Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Portugal, and many more.

“DUMDi DUMDi” also excelled on Naver Music, Bugs, and ranking fourth on Genie. The MV for (G)I-DLE single also surpassed five million views on Youtube in the first five hours of its official release.

“DUMDi DUMDi” was co-written by (G)I-DLE member Soyeon and composer Pop Time. The song was composed as a summer song with the girl group’s signature style.

The track also delivers a flirty and fun side of the group boasting booming percussion, light Latin-Pop influences, and subtle incorporation of the dependably catchy whistle hook.
