CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa, Jeong Sewoon, Lee Joon, and UP10TION’s Lee Ji Hyuk made an appearance on the August 15 episode of “Ask Us Anything. The five boy members feature in the show’s “friends” special.

Lee Joon and Jung Yong Hwa share that they have been friends for 12 years already. Lee Joon expressed that he became a trainee before Yong Hwa. He heard that an ulzzang (a person whose photos become famous on the internet for their good looks) from Busan was coming.

Jung Hwa revealed that Lee Joon wasn’t training to become a singer during that time. He was preparing to become an actor.

Jung Hwa added that Lee Joon was the first person he saw when he went to Seoul and thought that he was the standard of every person in the city. Jung Hwa described him being long-haired with a good sense of style, and he looked like someone he had seen on TV.

Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Joon also shared on the interview how they had come to part ways within their agency. Lee Joon expressed they had some trouble with the company when they left, but Jung Yong Hwa countered that there wasn’t any trouble; they were only on the wrong agency.

Jung Yong Hwa further explained that he was 20 years old at the time, and he wanted to drink, so they had grilled pork belly and soju, but someone from their agency saw them. The next day they were called to make an appearance on their agency office, and he thinks that Lee Joon already had a mind to leave the agency that time, and he whispered, “let’s leave.” He then objected, saying that he is from Busan, and he has nowhere to go.

When asked why Lee Joon debuted as a singer, he revealed that he had lost his direction at the time. But then, luckily, he met Rain. Rain told him while he followed a friend to an audition saying, “You remind me of me.” Rain asked him if he could sing, so he showed his singing skills, and when Rain asked him if he can dance, Lee Joon also danced.

And after that encounter, Lee Joon instantly became a singer, then he called Yong Hwa, who was struggling during that time and said, “Join me in MBLAQ.”
