Ex KBS comedian, currently identified as "A," has confessed to all illicit filming allegations.

In May, an unauthorized surveillance device matching a compact external battery was found in a ladies' restroom within the KBS research center, sparking a legal investigation. In June, the offender voluntarily came even before authorities calls everyone for questioning.

The perpetrator was confirmed to have been a male comedian who debuted after completing the KBS audition in 2018. KBS has made an official statement on the subject.

On 14 August, the first hearing occurred in the Southern District Court of Seoul. Judge Ryu Hee Hyeon ruled over the court, whereby "A" was found to have violated the Act on Special Cases Relating to the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, etc., by trespassing in different locations and using concealed cameras for sexual purposes.

Represented by his counsel, "A" admitted guilty to all charges brought by the prosecutors. The prosecution alleged that between October 2018 and May 2020, "A" had infiltrated 47 women's restrooms or changing rooms to install illicit recording equipment.

For certain instances, he placed the device over the bathroom, partitions to record the victims themselves. He was also convicted of transporting prohibited products to his private storage room.

"A" admitted facts of the CCTV corroboration, proof on his mobile and the victims' written statements, and said, "We are continuing to work towards a settlement with the affected people." (via Soompi)

"Shortly after the incident, we promptly thoroughly checked the main building, the new facility, the annex, and the research facility, ensuring no significant issues. We have also conducted a full-scale women-only space investigation in our regional branches.

We are also planning steps to avoid the recurrence of the problem and introduce surveillance devices, such as CCTV cameras, and the upgrading of access procedures.
