Police deny allegations regarding past drug use by actor Shin Hyun Joon.

On July 13, former manager of Shin Hyun Joon, Kim Gwang Seob, filed a written complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, requesting them to re-investigate a report that Shin Hyun Joon unlawfully administered Propofol in 2010. In the written complaint, Kim Gwang Seob claimed that it was in 2010 when Shin Hyun Joon was drug overdosed while undergoing care from a dermatologist in Gangnam District. (via Soompi)

It was documented on August 12 that the Seoul Gangnam Police Station turned down Kim Gwang Seob's complaint on July 14. The police decided on July 27, after analyzing the report, Shin Hyun Joon had not unlawfully administered the medication for two main reasons. 2010 is when Kim Gwang Seob made allegations the same year before Propofol being labeled as a drug in February 2011.

The authorities also added the seven-year limitations for illegal drug usage that isn't for medical use does not apply in this situation because seven years have elapsed. Shin Hyun Joon and Kim Gwang Seob are already in conflict since last month when Kim Gwang Seob did an interview wherein he claimed that the artist had mistreated him for thirteen years.

Shin Hyun Joon and his current company, HJ Film, have released an official statement debunking these series of allegations. On July 27, Shin Hyun Joon already lodged a formal complaint against Kim Gwang Seob on charges of character defamation and dissemination of false and baseless information and stories on his past use of drugs.

Shin Hyun Joon said, "I met Kim Gwang Seob for the first time in 1991, and we became friends, but we cut off all ties years ago after discovering that he sparked several disturbances around me. After many years of disappearance, that individual now appears again to spread false information regarding me."

Shin Hyun Joon has reprimanded Kim Gwang Seob for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection Act.
