Joo Won Shares Difficulty In Portraying His Character In 'Alice' + Kim Hee Sun Inspires Staff And Other Actors With Impressive Dedication

Joo won, and Kim Hee Sun sat down in an interview to talk about their casting in the sci-fi thriller drama "Alice."

"Alice," per Soompi, follows the story of a detective (played by Joo Won) who discovers the existence of time travel and crosses paths with a scientist who resembles his late mother (Kim Hee Sun). They race to solve a special secret together that involves time travel and fate.

Park Jin Gyeom, played by Joo Won, is a detective born with a lack of emotion, and as an actor who will play the role, one must juggle his character's explosive action scenes while still nailing the emotionless Park Ji Gyeom. Moreover, known for his diverse roles in drama and films, Joo Won continues to challenge his filmography with superb portrayals. His several projects have already won many hearts with his unique artistry.

When asked about his reason for choosing to be a part of the drama, he expressed that he was drawn to the extremely new concept and appealing character. "Everyone can relate to a mother's story, but how it was delivered on the script is new. I thought that the new concept felt fresher than any project."

Joo Won also talked about his difficulties upon doing his role, especially when expressing his character's inner thoughts without emotion. He said that Park Jin Gyeom was born without emotion, but he was able to grow with her mother's help and hard work. And since he couldn't express feelings like other people, he tries to show things the way he looks.

The actor also expressed that he tried to act emotions as little as possible and said, "There are some things that touch Park Jin Gyeom's heart, so I wanted those to have as much impact as possible.

The drama "Alice" also shared stills of Kim Hee Sun preparing herself in the action thriller. The actress with also a diverse filmography has portrayed in many projects, including youth dramas, trendy dramas, thrillers, and other genre projects. Her latest drama project, "Woman With Dignity," raked the highest-ratings in JTBC's show at the time.

Being able to take part in two roles in "Alice," the 20s and the 40s, the production staff shared that Kim, as a recognized top actress of Korea, has poured unparalleled passion, affection, and hard work into "Alice." The production team also revealed that other actors and staff of the show were motivated by Kim Hee Sun's desire to do the best in every filming.
