'Global Pop Star' Jungkook has clinched two prestigious awards at Europe's biggest music awards show, the 'MTV EMA'.

On Nov. 6 (Korean time), according to the list of this year's winners announced through the official website of the '2023 MTV Europe Music Awards' (EMA), BTS's Jungkook has secured trophies in both the 'Best Song' and 'Best K-Pop' categories.

Having set a new record for the most nominations for a Korean solo artist at the '2023 MTV EMA', Jungkook's double victory has solidified his global popularity. He is the first Korean solo artist to become a double winner at this awards ceremony.

Jungkook triumphed over formidable nominees such as Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift to win the 'Best Song' trophy with his solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)'. This is the first time a K-pop solo artist has won in this category. As a group, BTS uniquely claimed this award in 2020 with 'Dynamite'.

Jungkook also added the 'Best K-Pop' trophy to his achievements for this year. The 'Best K-Pop' category, introduced in 2019, was dominated by BTS for three consecutive years up to 2021, making them the most awarded artists in this category.

Since its release in July, 'Seven' has taken the world by storm, hitting the top of Billboard's 'Hot 100', surpassing a billion streams on Spotify in record time, and maintaining the number one spot on the 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart for 70 days, enjoying immense popularity.

On Nov. 3 at 1 PM (KST), Jungkook released his solo album 'GOLDEN', signaling an active upcoming schedule. He is set to appear consecutively on American NBC's leading morning and evening programs, including 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' on the 7th and the 'TODAY' show's 'CitiConcert Series' on the 8th.
