Singer and actor Rain (real name Jung Ji-hoon) has addressed the controversy surrounding allegations that he swindled 8.5 billion KRW (approximately $8.5 million) in a real estate transaction.

According to MoneyToday, on the 25th, the legal representatives Kim Doo-jin and Jang Jeong-hoon (from the law firm Seobuk) revealed that they had filed a complaint against Rain at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on behalf of their client, identified as Mr. A.

Mr. A claims to have purchased Rain's house last May for 8.5 billion KRW. At the time, a director from the real estate agency, identified as Director Jung, stated, "Rain is a celebrity, and his wife, Kim Tae-hee, resides in the house, so he refuses to disclose it." Mr. A expressed frustration, arguing, "If I can't even personally inspect a property worth such a large amount, shouldn't I at least be shown photos?" Director Jung then obtained photos from Rain and shared them. However, Mr. A alleges that the actual house looked entirely different from the photos.

In response, Rain's agency, RAIN Company, released an official statement on their SNS, saying, "The claims related to our artist, Rain, are entirely false. This is nothing more than an excessive attempt to tarnish the reputation of a seller simply because he's a celebrity." They further explained, "It's nonsensical to suggest that someone would purchase a house worth tens of millions based solely on photos. Even with the basic documents provided during real estate transactions, such as the property registration and building register, Mr. A's claims don't hold up. Moreover, one can easily verify the exterior of a house from the outside, and even a simple internet search of the address reveals its appearance."

The agency added, "We have ample evidence to prove that the buyer's claims are false. If he continues to make false accusations, we will submit our evidence according to legal procedures. We can only see this as a malicious attempt to tarnish Rain's reputation." They emphasized, "The facts of this case are very clear, and the buyer's claims are both illogical and disconnected from reality. We will take legal action against those who exploit celebrities' vulnerabilities and ensure that such incidents do not recur."

However, regarding the lawsuit, the agency added to StarNews, "We have not yet received the complaint."
