Ahn Sung-hyun, professional golfer and husband of former Fin.K.L member Sung Yuri (42), is under suspicion of having received over 3 billion won in cash, luxury watches worth hundreds of millions of won, and designer bags worth tens of millions of won in exchange for requesting a cryptocurrency listing.

According to the JoongAng Ilbo on the 31st, prosecutors have indicated in their arrest warrant application that Ahn Sung-hyun used over 3 billion won for illegal cryptocurrency listing and personally pocketed 2 billion won.

The Seoul Southern District Prosecutor's Office Financial Investigation 2 Division (Chief Prosecutor Chae Hee-man) applied for an arrest warrant for Ahn Sung-hyun on the 29th on charges of embezzlement. An arrest warrant was also requested for Lee Sang-jun, the CEO of cryptocurrency trading platform Bithumb Holdings, who was approached by Ahn for the coin listing.

Prosecutors had previously applied for Ahn's arrest in April, but the court rejected it. After further investigation, they reapplied for his arrest about four months later.

It was reported that Ahn Sung-hyun requested the coin listing with the help of Kang Jong-hyun, who is identified as the actual owner of Bithumb. Kang Jong-hyun, a close friend of Ahn, is also known as the former boyfriend of actress Park Min-young.

Reports suggest that Kang Jong-hyun was the first to request the coin listing on Bithumb. Expecting significant profits if the coin was listed, Kang allegedly provided the funds directly to Ahn Sung-hyun, who had connections with CEO Lee. However, the requested coin was never actually listed.

Kang Jong-hyun allegedly handed over the money to Ahn Sung-hyun multiple times. Ahn is suspected of keeping 2 billion won for himself and passing the remaining 3 billion won to CEO Lee. Additionally, transactions involving luxury watches worth hundreds of millions of won and designer bags worth tens of millions of won were also reported.

During the prosecution's investigation, close friends Ahn Sung-hyun and Kang Jong-hyun gave conflicting statements. While Ahn denied the allegations during the initial arrest warrant application in April, saying he received money from Kang for investment purposes, Kang countered by saying he had no knowledge of such an investment, inadvertently aiding the prosecution's investigation.

Sung Yuri, Ahn's wife, is also not free from these suspicions. Although she denied any connection with Kang Jong-hyun, saying she "knows nothing," it was revealed that she received an investment of 3 billion won from Bucket Studio, where Kang's younger sister serves as the CEO. Sung Yuri later stated she returned the money, drawing further attention to the connection.

Ahn Sung-hyun and Sung Yuri got married in 2017 and have two daughters.
