Just one year after their debut, the group NewJeans (Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, Hyein) has taken to the stage at 'Lollapalooza Chicago,' a major American music festival.

On August 3 (local time), NewJeans took the stage at 5 PM at Grant Park in Chicago, becoming the first K-pop girl group to appear at 'Lollapalooza.' The group performed on the T-MOBILE stage, the so-called "dream stage" for artists, which also featured global pop star Billie Eilish as a headliner.

Even before the show started, the atmosphere was electric with fans. Thousands of fans lined up at the 'Bunnyland' pop-up booth, a collaboration between NewJeans and Spotify, to enjoy various events. As showtime approached, tens of thousands of audience members crowded to watch NewJeans' performance. They waited, waving their light sticks in anticipation, and NewJeans did not disappoint, delivering an intense 45-minute performance of 12 songs.

As NewJeans' performance began, the audience sang along and followed the choreography, displaying their enthusiasm. Opening with their debut song 'Hype Boy,' NewJeans expressed their excitement at being able to perform on the 'Lollapalooza Chicago' stage and promised a fantastic show.

Continuing the show, the group performed rearranged band versions of 'Cookie,' 'Hurt(remix ver.),' 'Attention,' and other tracks from their debut album 'New Jeans,' as well as 'Ditto' and the titular track 'OMG' from their single album 'OMG.' They energetically performed each mega-hit, radiating the unique passion and freshness of NewJeans.

The highlight of the show was a six-song set from their mini 2nd album 'Get Up.' From the album's first track 'New Jeans' to the triple title tracks 'Super Shy', 'ETA', 'Cool With You', the interlude 'Get Up', and the epilogue song 'ASAP,' NewJeans captivated the audience with their diverse performances, effortless stage presence, and flawless live vocals.

The members of NewJeans communicated deeply with the audience through their fluent English skills. They shared, "We were really happy to be able to spend NewJeans' second summer on this hot and beautiful Lollapalooza stage. We'll never forget this time with all of you. We hope to meet you again next time."

After the performance, '#LOLLAJEANS' trended at No.2 on Twitter US, testifying to the attention the group received.

NewJeans signaled that they would start their global activities in earnest with 'Lollapalooza Chicago.' They will meet global music fans again on the 19th at 'Summer Sonic 2023,' a famous music festival in Japan.
