Recently, Billboard excluded the number of downloads from an artist's official website from its calculations. Some have raised suspicions that this move may have been intended to curb K-pop artists.

Despite this, Jungkook succeeded in making a 'Hot Shot' debut by reaching No. 1 on the 'Hot 100' chart as soon as he entered, and by remaining in the Top 10 for two consecutive weeks, he has demonstrated his global popularity.
