BTS's J-Hope, who officially embarked on his solo career in July 2022, has been maintaining a strong connection with his ardent fanbase, the ARMY, even during his ongoing mandatory military service. Recently, he opened up about the much-anticipated physical album, "Jack In The Box," and the reasons behind its delayed release.

"Jack In The Box" was initially introduced as a Weverse album, which led to speculation among fans about whether HYBE, the company behind BTS, had mishandled J-Hope's solo debut. Some fans even suggested that the company was using his promotions to test their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy.

Over the past year, ARMYs have been advocating tirelessly for a physical release of J-Hope's album. J-Hope himself has been working diligently to make this happen. He dedicated himself fully to the preparation of the physical album before his military enlistment, actively participating in its overall planning and infusing it with his unique style.

In a recent episode of Suchwita, J-Hope opened up about his feelings regarding the absence of a physical album for his solo debut. He revealed that "Jack In The Box" had initially started as a mixtape, with the intention of releasing it as a Weverse album or an LP if it remained in that format. However, as the project evolved, it blossomed into a full album, and J-Hope acknowledged that there was a much greater demand for a physical album than he had initially anticipated.

Fellow BTS member Suga shared that he had encouraged J-Hope to release a physical album, emphasizing that ARMYs would surely appreciate it. For Suga, physical albums hold sentimental value, serving as cherished mementos and part of his collection.

Understanding the desire of his fans for a physical copy of his album, J-Hope expressed regret for not having one available earlier. He admitted feeling "really sorry" for not being able to fulfill the expectations of fans who wished to possess a tangible representation of his musical journey.

Fortunately, the wait is coming to an end, as pre-orders for J-Hope's physical album, Jack In The Box (HOPE Edition), began on July 17, with the official release scheduled for August 18. The eagerly-awaited album will feature three live and two instrumental tracks from J-Hope's remarkable 2022 Lollapalooza performance.

As J-Hope continues to serve his mandatory military service, the release of his physical album becomes a significant milestone for both the artist and his devoted ARMYs, bringing them closer together through the power of music and heartfelt appreciation.
