The beloved actor Park Bo-gum is set to make his debut on the musical stage.

According to theatre insiders on July 4th, Park Bo-gum has decided to participate in the upcoming musical 'Let Me Fly', scheduled for premiere in September. The details are currently being fine-tuned.

Park Bo-gum has always shown a profound love for musicals. Having graduated from Myongji University with a degree in Film and Musical Studies, he demonstrated his dedication by not only actively participating as a musical director during his time as a student but also involving himself in the musical production of his graduation piece, 'Hairspray'.

'Let Me Fly' will serve as Park Bo-gum's comeback work after his military discharge. After completing his military service, 'Let Me Fly' will mark Park Bo-gum's first encounter with the public. In addition, he is also set to team up with IU in the new drama 'Fooled in the Pampas Grass'. There's a high level of anticipation for the kind of performance Park Bo-gum will deliver as he takes on his first ever musical challenge.

'Let Me Fly' is a futuristic exploration story about a typical protagonist from 1969 named 'Namwon' who wakes up in 2020 the moment he tries to take a step towards his dreams and love. The musical intertwines the common themes of dreams and love with the special event of time travel. The production was born under the collaboration of playwright Jo Min-hyung, known for the musical 'Cha Mi', and composer Min Chan-hong, renowned for the musical 'Laundry'.

'Let Me Fly' received rave reviews from audiences and critics during its premiere, and was nominated in six categories (Grand Prize, Best Musical, Best Script, Best Composition, Best Arrangement/Music Director, Best New Male Actor) at the 7th Korea Musical Awards. It won in three categories: Best Musical (for less than 400 seats), Best Composition (Min Chan-hong), and Best New Male Actor (Lee Hyung-hoon).

'Let Me Fly' will be performed 100 times from September 26 to December 10 at Yes24 Stage 1 Theatre in Daehangno, Seoul. Afterward, it plans to meet with audiences in Busan and Anyang.
