Actress Song Ji-hyo has contested the position of her former agency, Uzurocks Entertainment.

On July 4th, Song Ji-hyo's legal representative told TV Report, "There has been no negotiation or discussion with Uzurocks about the schedule for the payment of settlement funds. We only learned about Uzurocks's delay in paying the settlement funds and the new payment schedule through the media."

On June 30, a representative from Uzurocks stated, "The investment-related issues with a US financial institution have been finalized. We've set up 30 billion won in investment funds, and plan to use the funds by July 3."

Particularly, the Uzurocks representative emphasized that they had a conversation with Song Ji-hyo's legal representative and coordinated about the situation, promising to pay the overdue settlement money to Song Ji-hyo by July 20.

According to Song Ji-hyo's legal representative, the original payment due date was February 10. The representative explained, "Uzurocks did not pay the settlement money due on February 10 to Song Ji-hyo. Only after her legal representative urged the company to fulfill its duty to pay the settlement money twice under the exclusive contract did they make a promissory note promising to pay the settlement money by April 10."

The representative further stated that Uzurocks unilaterally delayed the payment until the end of May and then to June 25, and then again to June 26 and June 30. "Uzurocks contacted our law firm on July 3 to unilaterally announce another delay in the settlement payment, stating that the funds can only be executed on July 17," the representative added.

The following is the official position statement from Song Ji-hyo's side:

Hello,

We are the law firm Namsan, representing actress Song Ji-hyo.

Currently, we have filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court to receive the settlement money that U-JUROX Entertainment has not paid to Song Ji-hyo, and we have also filed a criminal complaint against the former representative of Uzurocks Entertainment.

Song Ji-hyo and the law firm Namsan have not had any negotiation or discussion with Uzurocks Entertainment regarding the schedule for payment of the settlement money, and have only learned about the delay in payment or the new payment schedule through the media.

Uzurocks Entertainment has unilaterally announced on June 30, 2023, that the recent investment has been finalized and they will make the payment as early as July 3, or July 10, and no later than July 20. There have been reports in the media suggesting that there has been a 'negotiation' or 'discussion' with Song Ji-hyo's legal representative about this, but we are issuing this statement to correct any misunderstanding that such negotiation or discussion took place.

Uzurocks Entertainment did not pay the settlement money to Song Ji-hyo, which was originally due on February 10, 2023. Only after our law firm Namsan urged them to fulfill their obligation to pay twice in March 2023, representing Song Ji-hyo, did they make a promissory note promising to pay the settlement money by April 10, 2023.

However, Uzurocks Entertainment did not fulfill its promise. As a result, Song Ji-hyo inevitably had to terminate her exclusive contract with Uzurocks Entertainment and file a lawsuit for payment of the settlement money and a criminal complaint.

Uzurocks Entertainment did not fulfill its promise. As a result, Song Ji-hyo inevitably had to terminate her exclusive contract with Uzurocks Entertainment and file a lawsuit for payment of the settlement money and a criminal complaint.

Uzurocks Entertainment unilaterally delayed the payment to the end of May 2023, and again to June 25, 2023, and then again to June 26, 2023, and June 30, 2023. Uzurocks Entertainment contacted our law firm on July 3, 2023, to unilaterally announce another delay in the settlement payment, stating that the funds can only be executed on July 17, 2023. They emphasized that there was a negotiation or discussion about the delay and the new schedule with Song Ji-hyo's legal representative. However, we have never had any such negotiation or discussion.

Song Ji-hyo and the law firm Namsan hope that Uzurocks Entertainment will quickly pay the settlement money it owes according to the original contract without further delay, and will continue to take legal actions until it does so.

Thank you.

In the meanwhile, Uzurocks Entertainment has not issued any official statement in response to the ongoing controversy.
