The hit track 'OMG' by K-pop sensation NewJeans has broken through a staggering 400 million streams on Spotify.

On the first day of the month, Spotify, the world's largest music platform, reported that NewJeans' single 'OMG' had garnered a total of 409,647,69 plays as of June 29th. It is worth noting that it took only 178 days for the song to achieve this milestone since it was released on January 2nd.

The song 'OMG' has outperformed the group's previously released track 'Ditto,' which had attained 300 million streams in 126 days, thus shortening the record by 11 days. Although both songs continue to be immensely popular, 'OMG' has now overtaken 'Ditto' in the streaming race, reaching the 400 million mark first.

NewJeans' tracks are on a steep climb in terms of Spotify streams. Cumulatively, their songs have surpassed 1.6 billion streams on the platform. This achievement comes just three months after the group broke records as the 'Fastest K-pop Artists to reach 1 Billion Streams' and earned a place in the Guinness World Records.

The growing popularity of NewJeans within mainstream pop music has garnered increased attention for their upcoming mini-album, 'Get Up,' scheduled to be released on the 21st. This album will feature a total of six songs, including the triple title tracks 'Super Shy,' 'ETA,' 'Cool With You,' as well as 'New Jeans,' 'Get Up,' and 'ASAP.'

Interestingly, even without officially debuting in Japan, NewJeans has soared to popularity, being hailed as an idol for the 'MZ generation.' Their single album 'OMG' topped the Oricon Weekly Combined Singles Ranking on two occasions (January 16th and March 13th, 2023), and the song 'Ditto' broke records as the fastest song by an international female artist to reach 100 million streams on Oricon. This song also attained the highest ranking by a K-pop artist, at 5th place, in the 'Oricon First Half Ranking 2023 Combined Singles Ranking.' The title track 'OMG' from the same album recently achieved 100 million streams on Oricon as well.
