EXO member Lay Zhang's fans, known as XBACKs, have taken to social media expressing their disappointment with Lay Zhang Studio's handling of promotional opportunities, work practices, and overall fan relations.

The studio has recently come under scrutiny from XBACKs, who voiced their concerns about the team's lack of expansion, questionable work ethics, and perceived lack of respect for fans. The grievances were mainly shared on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo.

Fans accused the studio's staff of obstructing Lay's professional growth by failing to capitalize on various resources. They also alleged that the studio repeatedly ignored their constructive feedback, leading to an apparent lack of tangible improvement.

The XBACKs' statement on Weibo revealed their frustration with the studio's alleged concealment of numerous opportunities from TV networks, media, and potential business partners. This, they argued, has limited the studio's reach and hampered its expansion.

The fans stated: "As a fansite for Zhang Yixing, we, like all fans, hopefully wish that Zhang Yixing will improve. Over the past few years, feedback has been sent to Lay Zhang Studio to provide resolutions to certain issues and team problems." The fans then expressed disappointment in the lack of progress, despite assurances of discussions and processing from the studio.

They ended their statement with a plea: "We hoped that the studio can maintain a professional attitude, in order to follow the footsteps of Yixing, and accompany him in the future."

The studio's Weibo account was inundated with criticism, while international XBACKs took to Twitter to echo their sentiments.

Various fan sites related to Lay proposed solutions for the studio's perceived inefficiencies, including improving publicity, handling of domestic and foreign social media accounts, marketing strategies, and event planning.

TikTok user @exoselda highlighted the recent barrage of news surrounding EXO, including the ongoing dispute of EXO-CBX members with SM Entertainment. The comments section of the video saw many sympathizing with Lay and acknowledging the challenges of being part of the EXO-L fandom.

Comments ranged from "It's hard being an EXO-L, but it's the best fandom," to the more poignant "Being EXO-L is never easy. This fandom is really not for the fainthearted. In EXO we trust. We stand with EXO, always and forever."

Given the recent issues, EXO-Ls are bracing themselves for more challenges, recalling the departure of KrisHanTao and urging unity within the fandom.
